Squeeze the Ones Ya Love...

How much fun am I having photographing families while kids are home from school?!  This is a shot from one of those sessions.  This is a family full of boys and the moma.  They are all boy too! When the mom saw the photos, she said "I was laughing and crying at the same time!"  These photos have a lot of meaning to her.  Her second oldest is graduating from high school in December and has joined the Army. Her youngest is in the 7th grade.  She and her husband are so in love.  An awesome example to their kids about what love looks like after 20+ years of marriage.
I shot this photo in a series and didn't have to prompt the dad to sneak in a quick "unseen" squeeze! The sun was very bright here on the Space Coast of Florida, but I used a flash with a large diffuser for fill.

Rock the Shot Forum has a November Photo Challenge..."What Family Means to You".  I just loved this shot and thought of it immediately.  Not a bunch of bells and whistles fixing it up.  Just emotion that a mom felt when she saw it. It's why I photograph. *smiles and sighs*.  Go squeeze the one ya love, people.

Horton hears a Who and Millie is thoroughly modern!

What do you get when a local performing arts theater sponsors a Summer Theater workshop with local high schoolers?  You get a FANTASTIC show with incredibly talented teenagers!  I heard time after time from the audience members, "I can't believe these are high school kids!  They are so talented!"  Well, they were the BEST to photograph too!  The costuming, make-up and wigs were top notch as was the directing, vocal coaching and orchestra.  The Henegar Center for the Performing Arts in historic downtown Melbourne, Florida was buzzing all summer long with theater productions for kids on summer break. The latter was "Thoroughly Modern Millie" featuring 9th-graduated seniors from area high schools.  "Seussical Jr." featured entering 5th graders to 8th graders from area schools.  Both were a thrill to photograph and I enjoyed getting to know the Henegar staff for the entire summer!

Welcome to Dana Niemeier Photography!

How much do I love Moonpies? I always have a box of  "mini's" in my snack drawer and maybe one in my purse.  How much do I love to photograph?  I don't go anywhere without a camera.   I take photos of everything, but I simply love to photograph people.  So much can be captured in a photo that may be too quick for the human eye to see at the moment. Oh my, when I see a pure emotion come through...THAT makes ME smile!

This is Michaela.
She can only do the Head Shot poses for soooo long and then... *smile*

This is Baby E.
That is her parent's sweet name for her too!  What a heart melting little face!
Will is a Senior
And will be attending college in the fall...
This photo was made into a graduation party invitation!  More personal than an invite with a stock Sr. photo :)

These are photos of friends who wanted unconventional prom photos!  How happy was I to take these?!
