Senior Photo session for Vivian!

There were 4 wardrobe changes and Many locations for this West Shore senior's photo shoot with Dana Niemeier Photography yesterday!  Vivian is a theater lover and cheerleader for her high school. We will shoot on location for her upcoming pep rally to add to her session! She loves purple and hats and geez can this girl jump!  That made for really fun beach shots as the sun dropped toward the horizon!  Hope you had fun Viv!  You are just awesome...but I knew that before I took your Senior photos, right? (grin)

Maleski Family Photo Shoot

Well, it took awhile to set up, but we did it!  The Maleski family of three is a ton of fun and I can't wait to photograph them again!! We shot in the backyard on a beautiful day as well!  Lauren is going to be my right hand gal on some upcoming photo shoots.  She has experience with head shots and posing so we can bring out the best in everyone!  I am so excited to have her on board!
We didn't have to do too much monkey jumping around to make this little guy laugh.  However, I will say he was a little partial to smiling at his mom who was standing behind the camera in these shots!

You don't think that Mike is a little proud of his boy, do you?!  How cute are they in those matching hats?
After the shoot, someone had a bottle and a blankie and someone(s) else grilled out...

The Castillo Family

There is a new member of the Castillo family and that means photos to seal such a huge event in their lives!
We had a great time swinging and looking for the elusive bobcat that hangs out behind their house! Grandma was comedic relief and the 3 year old thought she was the funniest he had ever seen! Sometimes it takes a village to photograph a 3 year old, right?

Then it was the little guy's time to shine :) What a doll baby! His mom, Brae and I had a fun day- including lunch-while Colton lunched and then back to the work of being adorable while being photographed!
Don't let that yawn fool you! He is an alert newborn :)

Thank you Castillo's, for letting me be such an important part of your day!

One of the many things I love about photography is getting to know the families I photograph.  These are the Baneys.  Don't they look like Floridians? They are die hard, '72 degrees is freezing' Floridians! Their oldest daughter was home for Thanksgiving and we whipped it out to the beach for a "Beach is the only place to live" Christmas card photo!  Of course I couldn't just take a family photo. They were so much fun I shot until the sun went down!

This was on the front of their Christmas card (minus the watermark!)

The kids wanted a jumping shot...I love it!
Always time for a sneaky photographer shot of a handsome guy!

OK...the Atlantic is a little cool this time of year, at least for Floridians...without wetsuits!

Always need a portrait of the couple who started it all!

How long has it been since just you and  your "insert embarrassing nickname here" had your photo taken together...that you want displayed?  Time flies doesn't it?
Thanks Rick and Anne!

Squeeze the Ones Ya Love...

How much fun am I having photographing families while kids are home from school?!  This is a shot from one of those sessions.  This is a family full of boys and the moma.  They are all boy too! When the mom saw the photos, she said "I was laughing and crying at the same time!"  These photos have a lot of meaning to her.  Her second oldest is graduating from high school in December and has joined the Army. Her youngest is in the 7th grade.  She and her husband are so in love.  An awesome example to their kids about what love looks like after 20+ years of marriage.
I shot this photo in a series and didn't have to prompt the dad to sneak in a quick "unseen" squeeze! The sun was very bright here on the Space Coast of Florida, but I used a flash with a large diffuser for fill.

Rock the Shot Forum has a November Photo Challenge..."What Family Means to You".  I just loved this shot and thought of it immediately.  Not a bunch of bells and whistles fixing it up.  Just emotion that a mom felt when she saw it. It's why I photograph. *smiles and sighs*.  Go squeeze the one ya love, people.

Horton hears a Who and Millie is thoroughly modern!

What do you get when a local performing arts theater sponsors a Summer Theater workshop with local high schoolers?  You get a FANTASTIC show with incredibly talented teenagers!  I heard time after time from the audience members, "I can't believe these are high school kids!  They are so talented!"  Well, they were the BEST to photograph too!  The costuming, make-up and wigs were top notch as was the directing, vocal coaching and orchestra.  The Henegar Center for the Performing Arts in historic downtown Melbourne, Florida was buzzing all summer long with theater productions for kids on summer break. The latter was "Thoroughly Modern Millie" featuring 9th-graduated seniors from area high schools.  "Seussical Jr." featured entering 5th graders to 8th graders from area schools.  Both were a thrill to photograph and I enjoyed getting to know the Henegar staff for the entire summer!

Babies! Twins, no less :)  What a fun shoot of two 5 month olds!  Leigh, you have your hands full of two sweeties!  We will have a follow-up session soon!

Oh my, way too cute!  The darling headbands are by Tanya's Tangles!  She is a local girl but ships everywhere!  She can make anything and takes requests!!
